The Phonak TV Connector is a sleek gadget that allows you to connect compatible hearing aids to your TV or other entertainment devices. This device works in a similar fashion to how you would connect your wireless earphones to your smartphone.
The Phonak TV connector is compatible with the Phonak Paradise, Marvel and Audeo B-Direct hearing aids as well as some Unitron hearing aids. This easy to use device employs a technology known as AirStream to deliver impressive sound quality from any TV or Stereo system. The TV Connector can simultaneously stream audio signals from up to 15 meters to an unlimited amount of connected hearing aids.So how do you set it up?When you receive your Phonak TV Connector the box should contain the connector itself, an audio cable and a power cord. Plug the power cord into the TV connector and then into the wall socket, this will give the connector power. Then connect the audio cable into the TV connector and the audio OUT port into the back of your TV. A green light on the TV connector will appear and this indicates that the device is ready to stream.Now it is time to stream.The first time you are connecting your hearing aids to the Phonak TV Connector it is important to make sure your hearing aids are within 1 meter of the TV connector. Press the connect button on the back of your Phonak TV Connector and once in range your hearing aids will connect – to confirm they are connected your hearing aids will play a confirmation tune. After this initial setup connection your hearing aids will automatically connect once in range.
Now it’s time to turn on your television, your hearing aids will automatically start streaming the audio from your television. It’s important to note streaming range is 15 metres.
If you wish to pair another users hearing aids to your Phonak TV connector use the ‘connect’ button at the back of your TV Connector, the newly paired hearing aids will hear the confirmation tune once successful.Things to noteThe Phonak TV Connector is designed to fit seamlessly into your life, using it will not affect the audio for anyone else who is also watching the TV with you.
If you wish to temporarily pause the audio streaming from your TV connector to your hearing aids, for example to have a conversation, you can push the button on your hearing aid to turn off the streaming signal from the TV. When you are ready you can simply push the same button again to reactivate the audio.
Your hearing aids can be linked to more than one Phonak TV connector. You can seamlessly switch from watching TV in your living room to the TV in your kitchen with no issues.
If you have to take a call while your hearing aids are paired with the TV Connector this isn’t a problem. If a call comes in on your Bluetooth connected smartphone while you are streaming from the TV, the phone call will take priority for the calls duration.
To end the audio streaming all you have to do is turn off the TV the connected audio source. This will automatically send the TV Connector into standby mode.
