Glasgow will host the COP26 climate change summit from the 31st of October to the 14th of November. Road closures will begin a week in advance on the 23rd of October and will create a unique set of challenges, primarily concerning substantial traffic delays and congestion. About 25,000 delegates from around the world are expected to be at the summit and as world leaders descend on Glasgow security will be airtight, making Glasgow a maze to get around – and that’s before any protests get under way.

Due to the central location of our Glasgow clinic, we expect our patients may face difficulties getting to us, especially as rail strikes are currently being threatened. It is expected that the M8 will be significantly congested as it will be the main route for delegates travelling to the summit at the SEC.

Unfortunately, many of the challenges posed by COP26 cannot be predicted. In an attempt to ease congestion alternative routes will be set up and you can find more information about this at Get Ready Glasgow.

For the duration of COP26 we will be increasing diary space at our Milngavie, Stirling, and Edinburgh branches. Throughout this time we will continue to take appointments at our Glasgow clinic. The number of patients we see will be reduced and appointment time will be increased to account for the extra travel considerations and ensure our patients continue to receive the best possible care.

Please bear with us during this time. If you have any concerns regarding your appointment during COP26 please get in touch with the clinic by calling 0333 320 7788 and we will be happy to help.

*Glasgow clinic opening hours are subject to change throughout COP26*
